Brisbane Course Instructor Bio's

Ann-Louise Spurgin completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology (Hons) at the University of Queensland in 1995. She currently holds the position of Consultant Speech Pathologist – Cancer Care Services at the Royal Brisbane & Women’s Hospital. Ann-Louise has a strong interest in education in this specialty area.  She has also been involved in numerous research projects focusing on the communication and swallowing disorders following head and neck cancer and has co-authored a number of journal publications and textbook chapters. Ann-Louise has a strong interest in education in this specialty area. In 2008, Ann-Louise received training by Dr Blom in Indianapolis, USA in order to deliver his voice restoration course in Australia.

Kelli Hancock completed her Bachelor of Speech Therapy at the University of Queensland in 1993. She is currently the Team Leader Speech Pathologist for Acute Services at the Princess Alexandra Hospital, Brisbane. She has been recognised by Queensland Health as a clinical expert in her primary interest and specialty area of assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders following treatment for head and neck cancer. She has both lead and participated extensively in educational and clinical research projects in this area. In 2008, Kelli travelled to USA and was trained by Dr Eric Blom to deliver his voice restoration course in Australia.
