Dr Blom Melbourne Instructors

Penny Chapman completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Flinders University of South Australia in 1994, a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research in 2014 and a Masters by Research at the University of Melbourne in 2021. She has been the senior Head and Neck Oncology Speech Pathologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne since 2001 and has over 20 years clinical experience in Head and Neck Oncology, with a special interest in laryngectomy management and surgical voice restoration. 

Penny lectures at the University of Melbourne on Head and Neck Oncology, including surgical voice restoration, to Masters Speech Pathology students. Penny was an instructor for the Dr Blom’s Course in Melbourne during 2004-2008 and in 2013 travelled to Indianapolis for training with Dr Eric Blom to deliver his voice restoration course in Melbourne.

 

Felicity Megee completed a Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Latrobe University in 2000 followed by a Masters of Public Health at Monash University in 2011. She has worked in the assessment and management of swallowing and communication disorders following treatment for head and neck cancer at various tertiary centres in Melbourne and abroad incorporating teaching, quality improvement and research initiatives to improve clinical care.

She is currently a Grade 4 clinician at the Royal Melbourne Hospital where she has worked for the past 12 years.  Felicity is committed to ensuring the delivery of safe and effective preoperative, acute and community care for patients following laryngectomy. In 2013 Felicity travelled to USA and was trained by Dr Eric Blom to deliver his voice restoration course in Australia.
