TEP Workshop Melbourne Instructors

Penny Chapman completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology degree at Flinders University of South Australia in 1994. She has been the senior Head and Neck Oncology Speech Pathologist at St. Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne since 2001 and has over 22 years of clinical experience managing people undergoing Head and Neck cancer treatment. Penny completed a Graduate Certificate in Clinical Research at the University of Melbourne (UOM) in 2014 and completed a Master of Philosophy (MPhil) in Speech Pathology at UOM in 2022. She has a special interest in laryngectomy management, including surgical voice restoration and her latest research explored the adjustment experiences of people post-laryngectomy.

 

Penny was an instructor for the Dr Blom in Australia Course in Melbourne during 2004-2008. She travelled to Indianapolis in 2013 to train with Dr Eric Blom to gain further theoretical knowledge to deliver his voice restoration course.

 

Felicity Megee completed her Bachelor of Speech Pathology at Latrobe University in 2000 and Masters of Public Health at Monash University in 2011. She is currently a Grade 4 Speech Pathologist at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. Felicity’s current areas of research include communication and swallowing outcomes for people post diagnosis and treatment for head and neck cancer.


Through her ongoing teaching commitments Felicity is committed to improving safe and effective preoperative, acute and community care for patients following laryngectomy locally and abroad. In 2013 Felicity travelled to USA and was trained by Dr Eric Blom to deliver his voice restoration course in Australia.
